The JNTUH CGPA Calculator is a tool designed to help students of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad (JNTUH) easily calculate their Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) based on their academic performance across multiple semesters. This calculator adheres to the university’s grading system and provides a straightforward method to assess your academic standing throughout your course.
Here are the instructions you need to follow to use the JNTUH CGPA Calculator:
Sum of all (GP*semester credit)
CGPA = ________________________________________
Total Credits of all the semesters
Whereas,
To Calculate the JNTUH CGPA, you can follow the below steps:
Step 1: Collect the GPA or SGPA and credits for each semester
In this step, we gather the Grade Point Average (GPA) and the corresponding credits for each semester. This information is essential because the GPA reflects your academic performance, and the credits indicate the weight of each semester.
Step 2: Multiply the GPA of each semester by the corresponding credits.
In this step, we calculate the weighted score for each semester by multiplying the GPA by the Total credits. This gives us a clear understanding of how each semester contributes to the overall performance.
Total Grade Points = 6.9×20 + 7.8×22 + 5.6×25
Step 3: Add all the weighted scores together
Now we sum all the weighted scores calculated in Step 2. This total gives us the cumulative weighted score, which reflects the overall performance across all semesters.
Total Grade Points = 138 + 171.6 + 140 = 449.6
Step 4: Sum up the total credits across all semesters
In this step, we find the total number of credits by adding the credits from each semester. This sum is crucial for the final calculation of CGPA.
Total Credits = 20 + 22 + 25 = 67
Step 5: Divide the total weighted scores by the total credits
Finally, we calculate the CGPA by dividing the total weighted scores from Step 3 by the total credits from Step 4. This gives us the final CGPA, which is a representation of your overall academic performance.
Sum of (GP*Credit) for all the subjects till the current semester
CGPA = __________________________________________________________________
Total Credits till the current semester
CGPA = 449.6 / 67
≈ 6.73
The formula to convert CGPA to a percentage is to first subtract 0.5 from the CGPA and then multiply the result by 10 to obtain the percentage equivalent.
% equivalent of CGPA (CGPA to Percentage Conversion) = (CGPA - 0.5) * 10
Percentage = (6.73 - 0.5)×10
= 62.3%
For better understanding, we have given the CGPA to percentage conversion with some examples:
To convert CGPA to percentage, you can use the formula:
Percentage = (CGPA − 0.5)×10
The percentage value of 9.2 CGPA is 87%.
Using the % conversion formula:
Percentage = (CGPA − 0.5)×10
To convert the CGPA of 9.2 to a percentage, first, subtract 0.5 from the total CGPA and then multiply by 10, converts to a percentage of 87%.
A CGPA of 7.4 is generally considered good in BTech, as it reflects a solid understanding of the subjects. It may vary based on the specific institution and program, but it's usually above average.
To achieve distinction in JNTUH, a student typically needs to maintain a CGPA of 8.0 or above.
