The JNTUH SGPA (Semester Grade Point Average) Calculator is an essential tool for students at Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad. It simplifies the process of calculating your SGPA based on the grades received and credits assigned for each subject during a semester. By adhering to the JNTUH grading system, this calculator enables students to assess their academic performance accurately in a user-friendly manner, helping them stay informed about their progress throughout their studies.
Here are the instructions you need to follow to use JNTUH SGPA Calculator:
Sum of Grade Points of the Semester
SGPA = _______________________________________
Total Credits for the Semester
Whereas,
To Calculate the JNTUH SGPA, you can follow the below steps:
Step 1: Collect the data of Grades and Credits for the Semester
In this step, we gather the grades received in each subject along with their corresponding credit values.
Step 2: Calculate the Grade Points of each subject
Grade points for each subject are calculated by multiplying the grade value by the number of credits.
Total Grade Points = 4×8 + 3×7 + 9×2
Step 3: Sum up all the Grade Points
Now, we add all the grade points calculated in the previous step to get the total grade points for the semester.
Total Grade Points = 32 + 21 + 18 = 71
Step 4: Add the total number of credits for the semester
Next, we sum up all the credits earned from each subject to find the total credits for the semester.
Total Credits = 4 + 3 + 2 = 9
Step 5: Divide the total grade points by the total credits.
Finally, we calculate the SGPA by dividing the total grade points by the total credits. This gives us a weighted average of the grades based on the credits.
Sum of Grade Points of the Semester
GPA = _______________________________________________
Total Credits for the Semester
= 71/9
= 7.8
The formula for calculating the JNTUH SGPA is the ratio of the Sum of Grade Points of the semester divided by the total Credits of the Semester
Where,
JNTUH utilizes a 10-point grading system, which includes letter grades ranging from O (Outstanding) to F (Fail). Each grade corresponds to a specific range of percentage marks, allowing for a standardized assessment of student performance. This system helps students understand their academic standing and set goals for improvement.
To calculate SGPA, start by listing all your subjects along with the credits and grades earned. Convert each grade to its corresponding grade point. Multiply the grade points by the respective credits to get weighted points. Finally, sum these weighted points and divide by the total credits to obtain your SGPA.
Generally, an SGPA above 7.0 is viewed as satisfactory, while an SGPA of 8.0 or higher is regarded as excellent.
